Course Content

Acute Kidney Injury
This module explains how to recognise patients at risk of AKI and try to prevent the development of this condition. In addition it describes how to diagnose the presence of AKI and how to determine it's cause. It also describes how to provide fluid resuscitation and maintain fluid balance in the patient as well as the basic principles of management of specific causes of AKI and dialysis treatment of AKI.

Chronic Kidney Disease
This module explains how to recognise patients at risk of CKD and try to prevent the development of this condition, and how to diagnose the presence of CKD and how to determine it's cause. The module specifically discusses, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetic nephropathy, the treatment of complications in advanced CKD (anaemia and mineral and bone disorder), safe prescribing, and the effects of commonly used drugs.
