The Blood Transfusion Training (BTT) elearning programme supports the training of staff directly involved in the transfusion process and/or the management of patients requiring anti-D immunoglobulin prophylaxis.

Course Content
The programme is made up of nine modules. Each module takes between 30 & 60 minutes to complete and includes an assessment – a score of 80% is required to successfully complete the module. The programme modules cover the following topics: – Essential Transfusion Practice (adult and paediatric practice) – Good Manufacturing Practice – Consent – SHOT (Serious Hazards of Transfusion) – Transfusion Reactions – Blood Components – Cell Salvage – An Introduction to Transfusion Laboratory Practice – Use of Anti-D Immunoglobulin in Pregnancy
