Course Content

Course Content
Available to healthcare professionals around the world, the elearning course consists of two modules and a formal assessment: Ultrasound physics, artefacts and how to examine a patient with ultrasound. Introduction to the FAMUS modules: -Chest: learn about artefacts encountered in chest ultrasound, the appearances of pneumonia and pleural effusion and how to use the Bedside Lung Ultrasound in Emergency (BLUE) protocol to assess patients with respiratory failure. -Abdomen: learn about the seven point FAMUS abdominal scan to exclude obstructive uropathy and about free fluid in the abdomen and the best location to sample it. -Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)/vascular access: learn about how to rule in a DVT and techniques for ultrasound guided needling. On completion of the Formal Assessment, if you score 75% or higher, you’ll receive your FAMUS certificate.
